- Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Set up and stock food items and all necessary supplies for a specific kitchen station (e.g., grill, sauté, fryer, pantry).
- Efficiently and accurately prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications established by the Chef.
- Use a variety of kitchen equipment and utensils, including grills, fryers, ovens, and knives, with skill and safety.
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients before and during service, including washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning.
- Safety and Sanitation:
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, temperature control, and storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station throughout the shift.
- Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment at the end of each shift.
- Communicate effectively with the entire kitchen team, including other line cooks, prep cooks, and management, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure all elements of a dish are prepared and plated simultaneously.
- Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- English and Spanish is a plus but not a requirement
