Job Summary:

Position Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
Location: Rome, NY 13440
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Work Schedule: Days, 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Serve as the circulating nurse while maintaining a safe and sterile operating room environment.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Accurately document intraoperative care using the facility's electronic charting system.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled.
• Assist with patient transfer and handoff to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York or Compact License, if applicable).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Certification completed prior to the start date.
• Ability to complete an additional 8 hours of facility-required CEUs during orientation.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, sterile technique, and patient safety standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts as needed (no later than 7:00 PM ).

Additional Information:

• Call Requirement: Approximately 5 call shifts per month , including 2 weekend call shifts .
• Weekend Requirement: No scheduled weekends except while on call.
• Start Date: ASAP
