Business Office Manager

Ormond Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - We are looking for an experienced long-term care business office manager. Primary Job duties include maintaining the daily census, assisting with Medicaid applications, Medicare billing, and Medicaid billing and collections. Must have Nursing Home setting experience. OVERVIEW: Performs business office functions under the direction of the Administrator in accordance with sound accounting practices. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the facility’s accounting functions under the supervision of the Administrator Monitor’s billing and collection activities. Coordinates with third party biller if applicable. Assures proper accounting procedures and controls are in place and followed, especially segregation of duties. Analyzes collections on a monthly basis. Responsible for all aspects of the resident trust accounting system, including security of patient funds. Manage the Medicaid pending application and conversion process to ensure timely resolution. Ensures procedures are followed to achieve an accurate and timely closing at month end and is the coordinator for the triple check process. Ensures all required records are maintained and submitted, as appropriate, in an accurate and timely manner and in compliance with federal and state regulations Recruits, hires, provides orientation/training, and retains a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the business office Ensures employee performance meets or exceeds expectations and periodic performance appraisals are conducted on a timely basis Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Must have experience in skilled nursing/ long term care facility 1 year experience preferred. 1+ years' experience as an office manager preferred. Must be comfortable multitasking. Geriatric and long term care experience preferred. Computer and Collection experience. Must have working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles, preferably in a healthcare setting to include Medicare, Medicaid and third party billing.
