Company Summary CoverCress Inc. (“CCI”), founded in 2013, is an innovative startup company based in St. Louis within the 39 North AgTech Innovation District.39 North is a 600-acre innovation district anchored by the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, BRDG Park, the Helix Incubator, Bayer Crop Science, and the Yield Lab.Our headquarters is located at 10407 Baur Boulevard. Our research is focused on developing products that fit within current agricultural systems. We are converting field pennycress into a new domesticated crop under the CoverCress® brand as the third crop in standard corn/soybean rotations, which could be used on up to 10 million acres at maturity in the US.Our novel crop offers growers an additional source of income through contracting, growing, and harvesting oilseeds produced from CoverCress seed, which is then sold to processors in a closed-loop commercial system for use as a renewable fuel feedstock and high-quality animal feed.Because it grows in the winter on otherwise fallow ground, farmers earn revenue from three crops in two growing seasons while benefiting from the ecosystem benefits of a cover crop, including nutrient runoff mitigation, improved soil conditions, and carbon sequestration. CoverCress Inc. is seeking a Regulatory and Stewardship Manager to join our team.This role will assist in development and submission of regulatory documents to support planting and use of this new crop and the development of documentation to support our regulatory stewardship strategy. This position is full-time and will be located at our corporate headquarters. Key Responsibilities A successful candidate will be expected to: Provide support to Regulatory, R&D, and Agronomy teams: Manage QA/QC process for gene edited products to enable planting Manage/direct field productions and sample and data collection. Write reports to support animal feeding studies Complete/submit USDA and/or EPA related documents/applications Facilitate collaboration workgroup to support pest control product label amendment needs Develop Regulatory documents/plans to further commercialization efforts. Create/retain company records/documentation (SOPs, MTFs, study files, etc.) Work collaboratively with the Regulatory, R&D, and Agronomy teams to achieve the continuous improvement of CoverCress crop production. This involves working across functions to help drive the success of CoverCress Inc. Demonstrate the ability to help lead processes and projects; apply critical thinking and work independently. Assist with novel processes/company needs as they arise. Conduct all activities with health and safety as a main priority. Education and Background A bachelor’s degree in the field of biological sciences, including biotechnology, plant science, agronomy, and/or horticulture. Qualifications Experience with USDA eFile system or other Regulatory electronic file systems Knowledge of U.S. Regulatory system regulations and procedures Experience building stewardship documentation processes from R&D results. Experience with Microsoft based programs. Strong time management and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical Demands Occasional standing, walking, bending, and light lifting; ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed. Work is primarily performed in an indoor office environment with standard conditions. Occasional fieldwork may be required, including limited exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, humidity, and allergens.
