Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Technician. Responsible for performing advanced lab duties, under general supervision as well as more advanced duties under direct supervision. Assists senior and supervisory technicians in all advanced procedures. Job Responsibilities Participates and performs other related duties as required. Lab Duties: performs advanced lab work under general supervision and more advanced duties under direct supervision. Assists senior and supervisory technicians in all advanced procedures, coordinates the repair and preventive maintenance of lab equipment, assists in experiments using established protocols and procedures, and records results of experiments. Assists in developing procedures: implements new procedures and protocols to support experiments, recommends and implements new approved procedures or modifications to existing protocols and procedures, and maintains and updates technical knowledge. Communication/Relationship: cooperates, communicates and relates well to all levels of the organization, listens carefully to respond appropriately, answers questions or obtains needed information, communicates ideas, problems, suggestions, and messages in a timely and effective manner, and maintains confidentiality of all research information. Judgment/Decision-Making: recognizes problems as they occur, applies appropriate policies and procedures to determine or recommend solutions, seeks guidance when necessary, asks appropriate questions when in doubt, utilizes reference sources/materials to ensure accuracy, and advises appropriate personnel of situations or problems requiring intervention or follow-up attention. Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with one year of experience. Advanced (beyond basic lab training) will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring Principal Investigator. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Salary and Compensation NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $55,649.99 - $55,650.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
