Temp Paralegal, Business Affairs

The MLS Legal department is seeking a Paralegal to assist the Business Affairs team with supporting commercial contracts, reviewing marketing assets and department management needs. Assist (under supervision of MLS attorneys) with templated commercial agreements, including agency agreements, content/production agreements, influencer agreements, player appearance agreements and other vendor agreements. Support Counsel, with the review of marketing assets (including, brand spots, emails and social media posts) across MLS/SUM properties Create checklists and other materials to support MLS’ business teams (inclusive of the marketing, events and communication teams) Additional responsibilities and special projects, as assigned. 3+ years of experience at a top tier law firm and/or corporate legal department Bachelor’s Degree required Paralegal certificate (or similar credential) Required Skills Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with outstanding organizational and analytical skills Experience with commercial contracts and confidentiality agreements Ability to proofread material for grammatical or spelling errors Sound business judgement, and flexibility/adaptability to prioritize, organize, manage and complete time sensitive matters without sacrificing accuracy. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced, team environment Familiarity with invoicing systems such as Concur; project management systems such as Asana Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Desired Skills Commissioned New York State Notary Public Knowledge and interest in the sport of soccer Total Rewards Starting compensation: $40/hour; 20 hours/week. MLS/SUM compensation is contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
