SUMMARY:

Hourly Paraprofessional pay rates:

• 18 per hour for Paraprofessional assigned to specialized classroom: Autistic, Emotional, Life Skills Support
• 16 per hour for Paraprofessional assigned to Learning Support, 1:1, Intervention

The Paraprofessional position will work on all student days during the school calendar year, 6.5 paid hours per day on full school days (scheduled 7 hours/day with a 1/2 hr unpaid lunch break). Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills Support. PTO: Employees assigned to work 30 hours or more hours are eligible for 8 PTO days (prorated based on hire date)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, behavioral, social, and personal growth within the classroom and school environment. Responsibilities include: Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups, including on-task prompting, social skills development, and self-care assistance. Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies as directed. Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development to help students achieve their educational goals. Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support. Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills. Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to instructional staff. Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to support student success. Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions, and other non-instructional school activities. Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits), Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred
