Plays a crucial role in providing immediate and specialized care to children facing acute illnesses or injuries in a dedicated pediatric emergency department. Quickly assesses the conditions of pediatric patients, prioritizes care based on severity of their conditions, and implements live-saving interventions. Key Responsibilities:

- Provides family-centered care
- Quickly assesses patients to identify their needs
- Able to work well under pressure
- Works closely with our board-certified pediatric emergency room physicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and child life specialist to provide excellent care
- Explain treatment plans and procedures to patients and their families, offering emotional support and reassurance
- Maintains hospital and unit specific competencies
- Collaborate with the pediatric acute care team to coordinate transition of care for an admitted patient

Experience Level:
- At least 1 year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
Position Requirements:
*Courses offered through the hospital and required within 6 months of hire*
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
