Post Graduate Fellowship Opportunity

The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland (Legal Aid) invites applications from third‑year law students (graduating in 2027) and individuals completing judicial clerkships in 2027 who are interested in pursuing post‑graduate public interest fellowships. Selected applicants will receive Legal Aid’s support as a host organization for competitive fellowship programs, including the Skadden Fellowship, the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation Fellowship, and Equal Justice Works Fellowships. Applicants with a strong interest in any area of civil law serving low‑income individuals and vulnerable populations are encouraged to apply. Please note: This is a call for fellowship candidates seeking organizational sponsorship. Selection does not guarantee employment with Legal Aid. Application Requirements A 1–2 page cover letter outlining a proposed fellowship project focused on civil legal aid; and A current resume. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited law school in 2027 or completion of a judicial clerkship in 2027 Commitment to public service and advancing access to justice Eligibility for the Ohio Bar Exam in 2027, or current admission in Ohio Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Initiative and strong problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working with low-income communities Knowledge of poverty law Application Deadline All application materials must be submitted by July 15, 2026 .
