Environmental Health & Safety Manager

An EHS Manager is needed for the company's facility in Los Angeles, CA. In this capacity you will identify, develop and implement EHS strategies that support business efforts, serve as technical advisor for the organization and liaison with regulatory agencies and the local community; anticipate, identify and advise management on EHS business related issues including compliance with EHS legislation.


Key responsibilities also include:

• Leading Environmental, Health and Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations; monitor performance and assist relevant line management in producing action plans for necessary improvements.
• Serving as liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities including city, county, state, federal and corporate entities.
• Ensuring required regulatory permits and registrations are secured and updated.
• Managing programs and reporting to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, FAA and other EHS regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring employees participate in safety and environmental training.
• Preparing and managing the department budget considering best cost opportunities.
• Developing relationships with community organizations to promote environmental responsibility.
• Providing EHS subject matter expertise to assist in the design of products and processes related to the site.
• Providing leadership for EHS staff; sets goals, provides coaching and training, monitors performance and results, provides feedback, communication, and manages schedules.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Six(6) years of related EHS and project management experience with two(2) years in managing compliance procedures/processes
• Two(2) years of supervisory experience including responsibilities for performance management, staffing, job and task assignment/delegation, etc.
• Superb knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FAA and other EHS regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
