Human Resources Director

We're partnering with a well-established, publicly traded organization that is experiencing continued growth and is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to join its leadership team. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and offers the opportunity to lead the full HR function for a business unit of approximately 260 employees across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands‑on - someone who enjoys building processes, leading change, and partnering with executive leadership while remaining actively involved in day‑to‑day HR operations. What You’ll Do Lead all aspects of Human Resources for a business unit of approximately 260 employees across multiple locations. Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on employee relations, performance management, organizational development, compliance, and workforce planning. Manage the full talent acquisition lifecycle, overseeing multiple active searches while ensuring a positive candidate experience. Lead employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and performance management. Drive HR process improvement initiatives through automation, technology, and continuous improvement. Lead a large‑scale project to review, update, and standardize job descriptions across the organization. Partner with internal and external stakeholders on compensation, benefits, payroll administration, HR reporting, and compliance. Develop and deliver onboarding, training, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives. Mentor and develop an HR team member while partnering closely with executive leadership on strategic HR priorities. Support organizational growth and change management initiatives. What We’re Looking For 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with broad generalist leadership responsibilities. Experience supporting organizations of 150+ employees with ownership of the full employee lifecycle. Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and complex workplace issues. Demonstrated success leading talent acquisition and partnering with business leaders on hiring strategy. Experience managing or mentoring HR professionals. Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, performance management, compensation, and organizational development. Experience leveraging HR technology, HRIS platforms, ATS systems, and process automation. Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and confidently navigate challenging conversations. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for building scalable HR processes. Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) is a plus. Experience within a regulated industry such as financial services, insurance, banking, healthcare, or similar environments is preferred. Ability to travel periodically as needed.
