Infrastructure Engineer II The Infrastructure Engineer II is a hands-on individual contributor role within the Infrastructure Engineering team, responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting on-premises and collocated data center environments. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering, this position requires a technically proficient professional with solid experience across Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft AVD, and Intune. The Infrastructure Engineer will also support data center technologies including SAN storage, virtualization, operating systems, and backup and disaster recovery solutions. A key focus of this role is the execution of security remediations, including vulnerability patching and scanning activities in coordination with the ITSC team, ensuring infrastructure environments remain secure and compliant. The role supports Azure environments for disaster recovery and business continuity, and collaborates across IT, security, and application teams to deliver reliable infrastructure operations. What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities Infrastructure Operations & Support: Deploy, configure, and support on-premises and collocated data center infrastructure, including compute, storage, virtualization, and operating systems. Assist in the implementation of infrastructure designs and contribute to operational consistency and reliability. Security Remediation & Vulnerability Management: Execute security remediations across infrastructure environments in response to vulnerability scan findings and security team directives. Perform timely patching of operating systems, firmware, and infrastructure components. Coordinate with the security team to track remediation progress, validate closure of identified vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with organizational patching standards and SLAs. Identity & Access Management: Support and maintain Active Directory, Entra ID, and related identity solutions. Assist with hybrid identity integrations and enforce security best practices for user and system access. Modern Workplace Management: Support Microsoft AVD and Intune environments for secure endpoint management and remote access. Assist with policy configuration, device enrollment, and compliance monitoring. Storage & Virtualization: Support enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and hyperconverged infrastructure (Nutanix). Assist with performance monitoring and capacity management. Backup & Disaster Recovery Support: Assist in the implementation and testing of backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions across on-premises and Azure environments. Support replication and hybrid recovery configurations to meet organizational RTO/RPO requirements. Operational Support & Troubleshooting: Provide troubleshooting and resolution support for infrastructure incidents and service requests. Escalate complex issues as appropriate and assist with root cause analysis. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for infrastructure configurations, procedures, and remediation activities. Contribute to knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures. Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving infrastructure technologies, security best practices, and industry trends. Apply learnings to improve the reliability and security of infrastructure environments. Completes other projects and duties as assigned. What You'll Need – Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in infrastructure engineering, supporting on-premises, collocated, and hybrid environments, including demonstrated experience with vulnerability remediation and security patching activities. Strong proficiency in: Vulnerability Remediation & Patch Management Operating Systems (Windows, Linux) Intermediate proficiency in: Data Center Operations (Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V) Identity & Access Management (Active Directory, Entra ID) Security Scanning Tools (Tenable, Quals, or equivalent) Modern Workplace Management (Microsoft AVD, Intune) Storage Solutions (SAN/WAN – Nutanix, Pure, Exagrid) Backup & Disaster Recovery (Rubrik, Commvault, Veeam) Automation & Scripting (PowerShell) Foundational proficiency in: Cloud Infrastructure Support (Azure) Replication & Hybrid DR (Azure, Site Recovery, VMware SRM) Working Knowledge of: Business Process Improvement Decision Making and Critical Thinking Global Perspective Knowledge of Organization Organizational Leadership Resource Management Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
