Specialty: Speech Language Pathologist Discipline: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting. Tasks Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients. Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders. Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events. Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals. Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines. Requirements Minimum of 6 months of experience in speech-language pathology; new graduates are encouraged to apply. BLS certification and ASHA-SLP National Certification with current state licensing. Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty. Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. #J-18808-Ljbffr TotalMed
