Our schools emphasize strong foundational academics while incorporating advanced instruction in mathematics, science, and STEM learning.We are seeking leaders who are passionate about improving student outcomes and developing teachers to deliver rigorous, engaging instruction that prepares students for long-term academic success.Position OverviewThe Assistant Principal (Grades 5–8) plays a key leadership role in supporting instructional excellence and school culture for upper elementary and middle school students.This position focuses on teacher coaching, instructional leadership, and data-driven academic improvement across grades 5–8. The Assistant Principal works closely with the campus principal and instructional leadership team to strengthen teaching practices, analyze student achievement data, and ensure rigorous academic instruction across all classrooms.This role requires a strong instructional leader who can support teachers through classroom observations, feedback cycles, professional development, and collaborative planning, while maintaining a structured and achievement-oriented learning environment for students.The Assistant Principal also supports systems that promote strong student behavior, engagement, and academic accountability, helping ensure that students are well-prepared for high school and future college success.Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional LeadershipSupport implementation of rigorous instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and academic standards.Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback to teachers.Coach and mentor teachers to strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes.Support departmental collaboration across math, science, and core academic subjects.Data-Driven Academic ImprovementAnalyze student performance data to identify instructional priorities and learning gaps.Facilitate data discussions with grade-level and departmental teams.Support teachers in implementing instructional strategies that improve academic achievement.Monitor progress toward school-wide academic goals and intervention plans.Teacher DevelopmentProvide coaching and mentorship to teachers through observation, feedback, and professional learning.Support professional development aligned to network academic priorities.Assist in building strong instructional teams and promoting teacher growth.School Culture & Student SupportPromote a structured and achievement-focused school culture grounded in high expectations.Support systems for student behavior, engagement, and accountability.Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and academically focused school environment.Collaboration & OperationsWork closely with the Principal and network leadership to implement school-wide initiatives.Support campus operations including scheduling, testing coordination, and compliance requirements.Participate in leadership meetings and network professional development to support continuous improvement.Qualifications & CompetenciesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher.Minimum 3 years of successful K–8 classroom teaching experience.Demonstrated teacher leadership experience such as grade-level lead, mentor teacher, or instructional coach.Proven success coaching teachers, conducting classroom observations, and supporting instructional improvement.Experience using student achievement data to guide instructional decision-making.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in technology and data systems, including Excel and academic performance platforms.Commitment to preparing students from diverse or historically underserved communities for college and long-term success.Preferred QualificationsBilingual (Spanish-English)Experience supporting English Language LearnersExperience teaching or leading instruction in middle school gradesBackground in mathematics, science, or STEM educationFamiliarity with instructional programs and assessments such as:SaxonOpen CourtNWEA MAPCorrective ReadingREWARDSExperience supporting STEM programming within core academic instructionWhy Work at AMS?Supportive & Collaborative CultureWork alongside talented educators and leaders who are committed to professional growth and student success.Career AdvancementAMS is one of Arizona’s fastest-growing charter school networks, providing strong opportunities for leadership development and advancement.Comprehensive BenefitsFully paid employee medical, dental, life, and short/long-term disability insurance; optional vision coverage; and a 401(k) with a 4% employer match.Professional DevelopmentReceive extensive onboarding, leadership training, coaching, and ongoing professional development throughout the year.Mission-Driven WorkMake a meaningful impact by helping students from underserved communities access high-quality education and reach their full potential.Join us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities! #J-18808-Ljbffr
