Job Description As a Security Officer Department Store Patrol Specialist in Aberdeen, MD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security‑related incidents. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon05:30 PM - 11:30 PMWed05:30 PM - 11:30 PMThur05:30 PM - 11:30 PMFri05:30 PM - 11:30 PMSun05:30 PM - 11:30 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, associates, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site protocols. Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, exterior areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions. Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas for policy violations, suspicious behavior, and/or operational concerns, and report observations to site leadership as appropriate. Support loss prevention and asset protection efforts by documenting incidents, completing required reports, and communicating with store management and/or public emergency responders when needed. Minimum Requirements: A guard card and/or license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
