Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 1 weekend every 6 weeks | On-call optional | Holidays optional

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume OR environment averaging approximately 50 cases per day across approximately 19 rooms
• Scrub and circulate on a wide range of surgical procedures including general surgery, gynecology, neurology, orthopedics, urology, vascular, thoracic, ENT, endoscopy, and trauma cases
• Scrub total joints, neuro, hybrid vascular, and robotic cases as required by unit needs
• Demonstrate competency in code response, fire safety, latex allergy precautions, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
• Perform and document blood and blood product administration, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol/time-out procedures, urinary catheterization, and wound management
• Chart accurately using Epic EMR; no floating between units required

Required Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
• Level II Trauma experience required
• General OR experience and laparoscopic-assisted case experience required
• Experience with electrosurgical units and fiber-optic light source and cord required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard traveler rate; local candidates are welcome and a local rate differential applies

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in orthopedics, urology, endoscopy, vascular, thoracic, neuro and neuro spine, bariatrics, plastics, ENT, podiatry, and transplant procedures
• Familiarity with cell saver, Hana Table, and Steris equipment
• Experience with Epic EMR
