Senior Tax Accountant

Coda Search is partnering with a prominent financial services firm that is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing team in Midtown, NY. With over $4BN in AUM and rapid expansion, this firm offers a collaborative and dynamic environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance.

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be a key member of the 5-person tax team, responsible for reviewing external tax consultants' work and managing your own portfolio of partnership, S-corp, C-corp, trust, and individual tax returns. Responsibilities:

• Review tax returns prepared by external tax consultants, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and manage a combination of partnership, S-corp, C-corp, trust, and individual tax returns
• Assist with tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals and business entities
• Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on complex tax issues and regulatory changes
• Maintain and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping
• Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors on tax strategy, compliance, and reporting
• Assist in responding to tax notices, audits, and inquiries from federal, state, and local tax authorities
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in tax preparation and reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2.5+ years of tax experience, preferably in a financial services or public accounting environment
• Strong Excel skills (proficiency in VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis)
• Prior experience with partnership and corporate tax returns (S-corps, C-corps, trusts, and individual filings)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external consultants
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tax filings and deadlines
