Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Critical Care Float for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of ICU experience and MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Float position covering multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units
• May float to inpatient floors including Oncology, Neurology, Med Surg, Medicine, Trauma, Heart and Vascular, and COVID when ICU needs are low
• May be utilized as a patient sitter if needed
• ICU patient ratio of 2:1 for all shifts
• Inpatient floor ratio of no more than 1:3 when floating
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45 to 07:15
• Every other weekend requirement, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating required within service line
• Uses Epic charting system
• Short term acute care facility setting

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or compact, not tied to another compact state)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, OCN, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• 1 year of CV ICU experience required
• Required skills: ventilator care, IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation
• Preferred skills: Swan-Ganz/hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, vasoactive drip titration, CRRT, ICP monitoring, PA lines, Level I Trauma experience, triage
• Preferred: chemotherapy administration experience
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Not accepting first-time travelers

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties with the flexibility to float to inpatient units as needed
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Follows infection prevention protocols including isolation precautions and PPE use
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Free parking available onsite
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
