Intern Assistant

Job Category: Accounting/Auditing/Advisory Reports to: Firm Senior Management Travel Required: Yes Position Type: Full-Time Job Description The Intern Assistant is responsible for executing and supervising a diverse set of client accounting, auditing and/or advisory service engagement plans. Working under the direction of the Firm’s Senior Management Team, the Intern Assistant will lead and conduct daily activities of the Firm designed to meet client expectations, comply with Firm and industry standards, staff supervision, and adherence to budget guidelines for each assignment. A successful candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter. Duties: Perform a variety of regular and recurring accounting, auditing and advisory services requiring professional competency. Individual responsibilities include assisting in resolving complex accounting and financial reporting issues, budget determinations, staffing supervision, working paper reviews and development, and report drafting, etc. Review, analyze and test financial data that reflects reported financial performance for proprietary. Use judgment and professional skills in determining and advise appropriate procedures for preparation of accounting records, research of transactions and reporting. Assist in drafting recommendations to improve client accounting processes and control procedures. Assist clients with analysis of accounting transactions and summarization of results in connection with external audits. Review contracts, orders and vouchers for accuracy based on established policies and procedures, bringing inconsistencies and exceptions to the attention of management. Concurrently perform multiple assignments. Communicate with other Firm professionals, clients and other third-party contacts with limited supervision. Maintain client confidence, and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform special projects as assigned. Skills/Qualifications: GAAP, FASB and GASB Standards Proficiency, Reporting Skills, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, PC Proficiency, and Productivity. Requirements: A degree in Accounting/Finance or have obtained a junior/senior status at a four year institution with an emphasis in accounting or finance.
