Overview Itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Leave Coverage | Cortland, NY HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist for an itinerant leave coverage position in Cortland, NY . In this role, you will support Early Intervention and Preschool populations across both home-based and center-based settings, depending on caseload needs. Role Type: Temporary Leave Coverage w/ possible permanent placement | 3 months + (Sept 1, 2026 – Dec 1, 2026) Schedule: Full-Time (35 hours/week, also open to Part-time) Compensation: $40.00 – $45.00+/hour (Translating to $81,900+/school year) . Both direct and indirect service time are fully compensated —you never lose pay for documentation, meetings, or prep time. Responsibilities Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results. Treatment and Education: Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders; monitor and adjust treatment plans; educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed. Qualifications Education: Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Licensure: Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or license eligible (CCC-SLP only) Certification: Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP). Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
