This role plays an important part in setting the tone of the dining experience while supporting smooth restaurant flow and exceptional hospitality.**Who We Are*** We live and breathe heartfelt hospitality, offering polished yet unobtrusive service* We prioritize making every guest feel content, comfortable, and genuinely cared for* We believe in simplicity—calm, intentional, and never dull* We live like locals and strive to be a brilliant neighbor* We thoughtfully anticipate guest needs to create an authentic, warm Lyle experience* We are empathetic, welcoming, and always open* There is truly no place like Lyle### ### **Hostess – Essential Functions*** Greet guests in a warm, friendly, and genuine manner upon arrival* Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments to support smooth service flow* Escort guests to their tables and provide a welcoming introduction to the dining experience* Maintain awareness of dining room flow, table status, and guest needs throughout service* Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen teams to support seamless guest satisfaction* Answer guest questions regarding menus, restaurant hours, and hotel offerings as needed* Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entry, and dining room areas* Support opening and closing side work duties as assigned* Handle guest concerns or special requests with professionalism and care, escalating when appropriate* Uphold company policies, service standards, and the overall Lyle guest experience### ### **Knowledge, Skills & Experience*** Previous restaurant, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred, but not required* Hotel experience is not required — a fun, welcoming personality is a must* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail* Ability to remain calm, poised, and professional in a fast-paced environment* Positive attitude with a team-oriented and guest-first mindset* Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays**Compensation:**$19.00 - $20.00 Per Hour**Benefits**At Lyle Washington DC we are committed to giving our employees the skills and support required to deliver extraordinary experiences, and most importantly, to grow in their careers.
