It’s a group of math geniuses, accounting gurus, strategists, analysts, and more, who together run a highly-focused, responsible, and motivated team that’s dedicated to driving the bottom line by analyzing complex data and drawing evidence-backed conclusions. We’re currently searching for an Accounting Clerk to support this brilliant Finance and Accounting team. (Inside Tip: if you spend your spare time finding the stories behind the numbers, we should definitely talk.)**Key Responsibilities:**The Accounting Clerk will update and maintain records, reconcile bank statements, and manage the accounting databases.* Perform routine clerical accounting duties within a fast-paced finance department while adhering to established standards* Serve as a resource for the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams* Assist with year-end audit requests* Execute accurate reporting, filing, and database management in multiple systems* Secure financial information by conducting database backups and maintaining strict confidentiality* Verify and post details about business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers and databases* Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by analyzing information from general ledger system* Review and balance internal accounts, analyze variances, prepare reports, and monitor depreciable assets using financial software* Match, batch, and code vendor invoices* Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to managers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis* Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and sales tax computations* Establish and maintain open, collaborative internal and external relationships.* Develop lasting relationships with guests to secure repeat business.* Embody the 1 Hotels Vision, Mission, and Compass; deliver on Our Promise, provide Good-Natured Service and uphold our Brand Pillars.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:* At least 1 years of related Finance and Accounting experience in a hotel* Excellent finance, accounting and analytical skills* Experience with complex operating and financial agreements; demonstrated success in evaluating risks and developing proactive strategies and plans to mitigate business issues* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills* Strong organization skills* Analytical and problem-solving skills* Proficient in verbal and written English communication* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred* CPA or similar accounting qualification is an asset.Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotelAbout you... Passionate about numbers and a minimum of 1 year of similar work experience. A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus. Experience in accounting and finance, a team player, hard worker, multi-tasker and detail oriented.
