Project Estimator

Project Estimator - Heavy Civil / Site DevelopmentWe are seeking an experienced Project Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for a variety of heavy civil and site development construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with earthwork, underground utilities, roadway infrastructure, and construction estimating software.Key ResponsibilitiesReview RFPs, RFQs, construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop complete and accurate estimates.Perform detailed quantity and material take-offs, identifying missing or conflicting information.Conduct earthwork analysis, including the ability to read and interpret cut/fill sheets.Review geotechnical reports and understand soil conditions and their impact on construction costs.Solicit and evaluate pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors.Prepare detailed, itemized estimates and cost breakdowns for heavy civil and site development projects.Coordinate with CAD technicians, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal support teams.Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and identify potential project challenges.Prepare RFIs and communicate with owners, engineers, municipalities, and other project stakeholders as needed.Develop project schedules and supporting bid documentation.Assist with change orders, plan revisions, project handoffs, and closeout activities.Maintain organized bid documentation, including take-offs, vendor quotes, subcontractor bids, correspondence, and related project information.Support senior estimating and business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities.Required Qualifications & ExperienceProven estimating experience in heavy civil construction and/or site development.Strong knowledge of earthwork and cut/fill analysis, underground utilities, asphalt paving and road base, site development and infrastructure construction, geotechnical reports and soil conditions.Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, and technical documents.Experience preparing quantity take-offs, subcontractor/vendor solicitations, and detailed project estimates.Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, owners, engineers, and other stakeholders.Software RequirementsStrong proficiency with the following is highly preferred/required: AGTEK, HCSS Heavy Bid, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and other construction estimating/project management software.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.Experience with roadway, utility, residential/multifamily, commercial, industrial, or municipal civil construction projects.Experience mentoring or supporting junior estimating/project team members.
