Job Summary and Qualifications

Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients. Verify prescribed treatment dose before treatment, verify fields to be treated and angles to be used. Assure placement of protective devices in order to shield otherwise healthy exposed tissue of patients. Place and immobilize patient to ensure accurate treatment. Maintain constant visual and intercom contact with the patient during treatment to assure patient remains in the proper position. Observe patient for unusual reaction and report any abnormal conditions to the radiation oncologist. Chart treatment details in the patient's medical record. Provides verification films on each patient treated. Check treatment records daily and weekly for mathematical or documentation error. Provides appropriate teaching to patients and families.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

EDUCATION Required: Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Preferred: BS degree in related field

LICENSURE Required: ARRT Board certified and participates in professional society Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider

EXPERIENCE Preferred: Two years clinical experience in similar department
