Warehouse Inventory Control Clerk

Inventory Control Clerk – Edison, NJ This position is responsible for overseeing the inventory process and collaborating with Accounting to ensure all invoiced items are correctly received. Essential Functions Perform cycle counts and complete inventory reports, including dated reports and bin analysis. Verify returned customer items against invoices/billing; obtain vendor return authorization; check for outdated, damaged or partial returns; return items to inventory and/or vendor as necessary; and request cycle counts when needed. Issue customer credits; apply additional charges (e.g., freight to ship back to vendor or transfer fees); and verify restock fees against vendor paperwork. Pull vendor recall items from inventory and process return of recalled product promptly. Obtain dead stock and quarterly return authorisations; key returns and notify purchasing department of the return timeline. Research and correct inventory issues and order discrepancies until resolution. Reconcile purchase orders by identifying errors between receivers, packing slips and quantities on hand; physically locate and count product, communicate with vendors about damages, incorrect shipments and shortages, and resolve differences. Foster and maintain a positive team‑oriented atmosphere; collaborate with associates to promote company goals. Develop strong relationships and communication with internal and external key members to understand company needs and expectations. Thoroughly understand internal processes and products, and embed Concordance culture into all interactions and transactions. Perform all listed responsibilities and duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years of warehouse or distribution inventory experience (cycle counts, reporting, etc.). Ability to perform typical physical motions for inventory control (bending, reaching, climbing, standing or walking for long periods, and lifting/carrying/pushing/moving up to 50 pounds repeatedly). Strong attention to detail and accurate work. Safe, efficient and respectful work practices with colleagues. Excellent written and verbal communication and time‑management skills. Basic math skills. Strong computer skills; experience with VAI or similar warehouse management systems is a plus. Dependable; able to work with minimal supervision. Adherence to all company and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to handle stress in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Self‑starter with flexibility and the ability to multi‑task. Successful completion of a pre‑employment background check and drug screening. Location Edison, NJ Compensation $17.00–$21.00 hourly.
