Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

The Department of Pediatrics at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, Northwell Health, is seeking an experienced Cardiac Intensivist to join The Cohen Children's Heart Center. This role involves working within a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on clinical and academic excellence, with the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at its core. The ideal candidate will contribute to program building and partner with various team members in a leading pediatric medical center. Practice Info The Cohen Children's Heart Center functions as a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on clinical and academic excellence. The CICU is under the leadership of Dr. Todd Sweberg. The institution is constructing a physically distinct, dedicated, pediatric cardiac intensive care unit that will add to CCMC's current 37-bed PICU. The PICU is the largest volume referral center in the region, admitting more than 2600 critically ill children annually. The NICU at CCMC is a 57-bed level IV referral center admitting over 1700 patients annually. The CICU is staffed by a dedicated team of Pediatric Intensivists, Neonatal Intensivists, Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, and advanced care providers. Compensation A competitive salary and benefits package. Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125,000 to $750,000, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. An academic appointment with The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is commensurate with credentials and experience. Benefits Physicians will be employed as members of Northwell Physician Partners, the seventh largest medical group in the country. Eligible employees will receive 100% employer-paid tuition expenses towards a master's degree from Hofstra University. Those attending another university will receive $5,000 annually in reimbursement toward qualified tuition expenses. Requirements BC/BE in both Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology is ideal. Candidates with boards in only one specialty, with an additional year of training or extensive cardiac critical care experience, will also be considered. A passion for program building is a must. A desire to work and partner with multi-disciplinary team members is a must. Active interest and experience in research and/or quality is highly desirable.
