About the Role

A high-volume, patient-focused Physical Therapy practice in Staten Island is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our front office team 3 days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays).

As the primary point of contact on these days, you will deliver warm customer service, streamline patient intake, and assist with insurance authorizations and billing tasks. Ideal candidates are tech-savvy, proactive, and experienced in a fast-paced medical office setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Customer Service: Greet incoming patients warmly, manage multi-line phone calls, and respond promptly to emails and text inquiries.
• Intake & Scheduling: Process new patient paperwork, build accurate patient charts, and schedule appointments using  WebPT EMR .
• Insurance & Authorizations: Verify insurance coverage and secure pre-authorizations for commercial, Workers' Compensation, and No-Fault claims.
• Billing & Collections: Collect daily copays, accurately balance patient accounts, and assist with claims billing using  Therabill .
• Administrative Operations: Maintain a clean, organized front reception area and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of receptionist or front desk experience in a medical office setting (physical therapy experience preferred).
• Software: Proficiency with EMR systems (WebPT and Therabill experience a strong plus) and strong computer skills.
• Insurance Knowledge: Basic familiarity with commercial, Workers' Comp, and No-Fault insurance verification processes.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
