Ryerson is seeking a General Manager‑Sales‑Program Accounts to lead and grow multi‑year OEM and industrial customer relationship within our metals business. This role is accountable for profitable revenue expansion, consistent margin performance, and disciplined management of inventory and receivables across a large portfolio of contract accounts. The General Manager, Sales‑Program Accounts position carries direct responsibility for negotiating and executing long‑term supply agreements that include vendor‑managed inventory, forecast‑based commitments, and index‑based pricing structures. Success in this role requires balancing customer growth with sound commercial judgment and effective risk management. This role provides direct oversight of outside account managers, responsible for major contract relationships, setting clear expectations for growth, commercial rigor, and financial performance. Roles and Responsibilities Lead growth and renewal of multi‑year OEM and industrial contract accounts, expanding revenue within existing relationships and securing new, long‑term agreements. Own commercial structure and negotiation of long‑term supply agreements, ensuring balanced risk and defensible margin performance. Direct and develop Outside Account Managers, setting clear standards for account strategy, growth, and execution discipline. Serve as senior commercial lead for major accounts, managing executive‑level customer relationships, contract escalations, and cross‑functional alignment with operations, supply chain, finance, and legal. Requirements Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is a plus. 10+ years of sales management experience in metals distribution or industrial sales. Experience managing and negotiating multi‑year OEM supply agreements. Demonstrated leadership of $5M‑$15M contract accounts. Strong financial acumen, including margin analysis and inventory management. Strong communication, presentation, business ethics, and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of commodity pricing dynamics and index‑based structures. Proven record of profitable account growth. Extensive travel may be required; up to 75%.
