HVAC Mechanic

Maintains, tests, repairs, and modifies heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related temperature controls and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing maintenance support to air handling units, exhaust systems, VAVs, BAS, and chilled water systems.
• Maintaining specified pressures, temperatures, and humidity.
• Inspecting equipment for malfunctions and making adjustments and/or repairs.
• Recommending modifications, replacements, repairs, and necessary procedures.
• Performing routine preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
• Maintaining preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files in order to comply with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
• Assisting in construction, remodeling, and maintenance projects.
• Providing information on critical mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
• Conducting and supervising airflow and balancing tests required for accreditation reports and for the infection control program.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• HVAC Mechanic
• High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Trade specific education.
• Completion of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved HVAC technician certification program. Additional certification as required by local municipality as determined at position level. Relevant licensure/certification as determined at position level.
• 3 years of related experience. 1 year of direct experience.
