Reports To Sr. Director, Supply Chain What You Will Be Doing The Senior Global Logistics and Customs Manager is the operating authority within ChargePoint for issues and process control related to finished good materials from Contract Manufacturer and Suppliers to a ChargePoint facility. He/she also is responsible for the development of timely, cost-effective transportation schemes and for domestic and international shipments. This person is expected to be the authority and ‘go-to’ for logistics, export compliance-related questions/issues, and to maintain and ensure the highest level of ethical standards in doing so. They collaborate with and supports procurement, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Global Supply Chain, and Engineering functions within ChargePoint. This is a diverse role that includes serving as a subject matter expert for internal organizations, facilitating ChargePoint business by helping to ensure compliance with operations related activities for export and importing regulations in North America, Europe, Asia, Mexico and China, including support of ChargePoint operations, providing guidance on export and import compliance issues, assisting in the mitigation of risks and monitoring developments in export regulations, and maintenance of ChargePoint export and import records. This is a highly cross‑functional role with visibility to global teams and senior leadership. What You Will Bring to ChargePoint Analyse and interpret export regulations to bring to resolution unique sales cases and product releases, including determining product eligibility for trade agreements Knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and one must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation Partner with numerous organizations within the company, including Legal, Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, IT, and Engineering to develop and execute defined procedures Interface with freight forwarders, US government officials, customs brokers, internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to customs and import and export regulations The job entails managing and executing both daily tasks of export document review and occasional, more involved problem‑solving, as situations arise Primary responsibilities are to coordinate all activities involved in export regulatory compliance, including, but not limited to, ECCN product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications (if needed) Evaluate new government requirements to ensure import and export compliance with changes and incorporation into day‑to‑day operations and standard operating procedures Serve as a functional expert in Global Trade Compliance, using experience and knowledge of U.S. and foreign customs regulations, as well as other partner governmental agencies, to promote increased compliance within the organization Support group programs and projects that take advantage of Free Trade Agreements (including management of certificates of origin) and other duty‑savings opportunities Document processes associated with Trade Compliance activities Manage an ACH account Review and apply for the yearly BOND Manage data entry requirements in the ERP system Audit and code duty invoices for accounting Audit import documents such as entry summaries, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and other documents supporting the U.S. imports Address and respond to Customs or other government agency (PGA, OGA, FDA, TSCA, etc.) inquiries both before and after the entry of the merchandise Responsible for developing the U.S. Customs Reconciliation and Record Retention Audit, review, and record retention of USMCA certificates Record all USMCA certificates to be used by US brokers to be filed and presented when required BOM auditing, tariff impacts, and new tariff proposals Establish and maintain relationships with all logistics vendors (FedEx, UPS, and various courier partners) Analyze billing data to ensure billing is occurring in accordance with contracts Coordinate international shipping consolidation to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery. Air vs Sea, Full Container vs partial, etc. Monitors, measures, and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on estimated freight spent to actual and on adherence to regulations and procedures Requirements Minimum of 7+ years of Logistics and Import/Export experience required Strong working knowledge of international business practices, transportation laws, and customs requirements Understanding of Customs Regulations in Europe, North America, Asia, and China Thoroughly familiar with international shipping documents such as commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, and export license, including consignee information, INCOTERMS, harmonized tariff code and nomenclature, country of origin, customs value, export classification, and license data Requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to solve problems, working with all staff levels Must have familiarity with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite Must have familiarity with pulling and reviewing the Bill of Materials Willing to Travel approximately 5%, possibly international Advanced Excel skills and the ability to interpret data Location Campbell, CA ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $140,000 to $180,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits, or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and specific work location.
