Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

SNI has partnered with a large publicly traded company to identify a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This role is responsible for the accounting and reporting of capital projects and fixed assets, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting while maintaining compliance with GAAP, SOX, and regulatory requirements. The position offers broad exposure to capital asset accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Record fixed asset additions, retirements, and transfers in PowerPlan.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close.
• Reconcile fixed asset and plant-related balance sheet accounts.
• Partner with project teams to ensure accurate capitalization of project costs.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and FERC.
• Research accounting issues and prepare financial analyses.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and system functionality.
• Provide cross-functional support and backup for fixed asset accounting activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience in fixed asset accounting, capital projects, and month-end close.
• Knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and FERC (preferred).
• Experience with PowerPlan or similar fixed asset systems is a plus.
• Strong Excel, analytical, and communication skills.
