Premier Veterinary Group, Mundelein is hiring a per diem Certified Veterinary Technician to support our high performing Emergency Department - Choose when you work... and when you don't!Schedule and Compensation:
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities available - Flexibility is needed
- $22-30/hour or higher, depending on experience
- $5/hr shift differential for overnights

- Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician preferred but all skill levels are encouraged to apply!
- Several years’ experience of related job experience
- Ability to work as a true Team Player and have a positive attitude in all situations
- Self-Motivator: Ability to work efficiently and effectively, proactive with approach
- Communicator: Successful communication is essential with all clients and stakeholders, considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of different people in different situations
- Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise. Understands linkages between department’s needs and the organization’s needs.
- Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
- Partnering with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Completing patient daily treatments in a timely manner at key treatment times
- Assessing hospitalized patients, using intuitive skills as a technician
- Assisting with flow and organization of Emergency and Critical Care department
- Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
- Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
