Information Technology Specialist

In this position you will be part of a technical team that implements complex technological solutions and maintains operational availability. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of customer support services, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting of networks and information technology (IT) systems, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements. Salary ranges from $61,722.00 (GS-9, Step 1) to $97,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10) with promotion potential to $116,362 (GS-12, Step 10). Major Duties Include Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents. Researching, evaluating and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns to support customer support requirements. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders as the Subject Matter Expert to provide IT guidance and solutions and providing customer training as required. Installing, configuring, integrating, troubleshooting, optimizing and maintaining customer hardware and software to maximize system availability and monitors network performance. Identifying and specifying information system security requirements and ensuring application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices. Professional Experience Along with the four competencies listed above you must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience described below to qualify based on experience. GS-9 Experience Testing, installing, configuring, and maintaining networks including hardware, middleware, and software. Consulting and ensuring Information Technology (IT) security assurance policies and principles. Developing and administering local IT databases. GS-11 Experience Analyzing, planning, integrating and configuring network systems hardware. Diagnosing and resolving network problems, hardware/software interface and interoperability issues. Testing, installing, configuring and maintaining networks including hardware, middleware and software to ensure conformance to national standards consulting. Evaluating new hardware and software technologies for potential inclusion into the enterprise.
