Machinist- Reporting to Workshop Manager

Job Summary:

Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role involves fabricating, modifying, and repairing mechanical instruments, as well as maintaining and repairing industrial machinery. The Machinist applies advanced knowledge of mechanics, machining processes, and shop mathematics to ensure high-quality results.

Travel Requirements :

This position may require travel domestically and internationally to support the company’s goals and objectives.  This is expected to be approx 10%.

Job Responsibilities :

·       Operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments

·       Modify parts and materials to improve overall production

·       Test completed equipment to detect and remove defects

·       Perform routine maintenance on machinery

·       Calculate dimensions and tolerance using measuring instruments

·       Maintain cleanliness of work area

·       Adhere to company safety standards

Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

·       Associate's Degree in a Mechanical field from a 2-year college is preferred but not required.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

·       Strong knowledge and experience in using precision measuring tools, understanding materials and safety protocols, job planning, and working with rotating equipment required.
