Overview Ground Crew Team Leader - Commercial Solar & Electrical Charging Station Installation. This is a full-time leadership role leading a team to install commercial electric vehicle charging stations and solar electric systems, primarily in New York State with occasional regional work in Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and potentially New Jersey. The team leader will work within a family-run, small business environment and must align with the company’s core values. Responsibilities Lead a small installation team on ground crew projects, coordinating job functions, guiding technicians, and overseeing daily progress. Coordinate with utility representatives for new services or upgrades; work with building and electrical inspectors to manage permitting and job closeouts (office handles paperwork). Read and interpret single-line drawings, specifications, and installation manuals; perform take-offs and develop practical action plans and schedules. Procure, organize, and schedule materials, manpower, and rental equipment; maintain organized project documentation and provide regular updates to the Senior Project Manager/Foreman. Provide timely project updates and photo documentation to company leadership; communicate professionally with customers to manage expectations. Ensure site work includes trenching, equipment pads, electrical vaults, transformer pads, and oil catchment basins; operate and maintain site work equipment (e.g., excavator, skid steer, lull). Lead and support the team in both commercial and potential residential EV charging station and solar installations as needed. Embrace company processes and tools, participate in remote meetings, and propose improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Site work: 5+ years of commercial site work experience required; electrical work: 5+ years of commercial electrical experience required. Strong electrical experience with the ability to perform all phases of commercial electrical site work. Master Electrician/Journeyman Electrician strongly preferred, but not required. If not currently licensed, willingness to pursue an apprenticeship path toward Master Electrician license. Extensive experience with concrete/site preparation, trenching, and operating site equipment (e.g., excavator, skid steer, lull). Ability to read and understand drawings, specs, and installation manuals; perform take-offs and develop action plans. Excellent communication skills, leadership, initiative, and the ability to coordinate schedules and resources. Licenses/Certifications: Electrical license strongly preferred. Schedule: Monday to Friday; On Call.
