Global Clinical Head (Pulmonologist)- Executive Director

AstraZeneca seeks a board-certified pulmonologist to serve as Global Clinical Head and Executive Director for infectious disease products targeting chronic respiratory infections. The role involves clinical leadership, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional team management within the biopharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall clinical leadership for one or more global infectious disease products in development pipeline
• Develop and execute medical and scientific strategies for target product profiles, clinical development plans, and regulatory submissions
• Lead clinical project teams ensuring timely and quality delivery of medical program components
• Represent clinical strategy on global project team overseeing infectious disease unit product portfolio
• Organize and facilitate advisory boards with international key opinion leaders

Requirements

• MD degree or equivalent with pulmonology board certification
• Clinical research expertise in pulmonology, particularly COPD and bronchiectasis
• Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical industry clinical drug development experience
• Demonstrated leadership managing complex global Phase 3 efficacy trials and clinical development plans
• Experience preparing and submitting global regulatory documents to FDA, EMA, PMDA, and other health authorities
• Proven ability to lead matrix teams, mentor clinical scientists, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration
• Familiarity with AI and generative AI tools applied to clinical development activities

Compensation: $331,873.60 – $497,810.40 base salary annually
