Production Control Specialist

Under the direction of Materials Manager, the Production Control Specialist plans, organizes, sets direction for developing and implementing production scheduling to support various products and service parts in all aspects of production operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compile and prepare information related to production sequences and schedules, including production progress, materials inventories, and materials used. Review inventory and distribute materials according to production schedules. Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials within or between departments in accordance with the production schedule. Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Consult with department supervisors to determine progress of production lines and shipment schedules, and compile reports on progress, inventory levels, and production problems. Verify production output against scheduled plans and resolve problems for out‑of‑tolerance discrepancies. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Communicate production planning status daily to Materials Manager, production personnel, and department supervision. Revise production schedules when required due to labor or material shortages, machine malfunction, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, production, and engineering. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. Two to five years of related experience, preferably with working knowledge of MRP systems. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and present information one‑on‑one or in small group settings to customers, vendors, and coworkers. Mathematical proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, percent; interpret bar graphs. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach above shoulders, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity for close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception; ability to adjust focus. Ability to work near moving mechanical machines and in atmospheric conditions occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; tolerate moderate to high noise levels.
