Serenity Primary Care is a physician owned primary care office serving Plano and surrounding areas. We're committed to providing high quality care to our community, and our physicians have decades of experience. We're looking for a medical assistant to join our growing team!

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience in a patient care setting or completion of an MA program
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 60 days of employment
• BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of employment
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent bedside manner and ability to make patients feel at ease
• Appears friendly, reassuring and approachable to patients
• Familiarity with medical charts and EMR systems
• Able to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations

Responsibilities

• You’ll put patients and their families at ease and set the tone for the rest of their visit
• Assist in the examinaion and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician
• Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies
• Interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information to patients' medical records
• Obtain specimens and order the lab analysis and transport of specimens
• Ensure that the examination rooms remain clean and stocked with appropriate medical supplies
• Assist physicians and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy and other patient care procedures
• Record and process patient care documentation quickly and accurately
• Maintain quality control standards and required Medical Assistant and CPR certifications
• This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday
