Duties

Help

• You will conduct oversight of Navy region and installation Emergency Management planning, preparedness, and response activities to ensure compliance with applicable directives.
• You will develop procedures to fulfill requirements arising from new modified plans from higher headquarters and other agencies.
• You will plan and executive specified emergency functions during operations and exercises.
• You will have the primary responsibility of supporting unique Regional Functions.
• You will participate in planning conferences and meetings for higher headquarters-directed exercises and real world events.

• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You may be required to receive an annual or pandemic influenza vaccine.
• You may be directed to deploy on short notice in advance of or in response to major incidents within the Region to augment Regional ERG operations or installation-level EOC staffs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience demonstrating deep understanding of all phases of emergency management, including preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining emergency management plans at the regional or installation level.
• Experience developing and delivering comprehensive emergency management training programs to diverse audiences.
• Experience conducting assessments of emergency management programs, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective action.
• Experience contributing to coordinated responses.
• Experience coordinating activities seamlessly with other services, federal agencies, and installation personnel to achieve common goals.
