Event Manager

Position SummaryPeachtree Catering, the premier catering company of Greater Philadelphia, seeks exceptional Event Managers to hire as we embark on our 2025 season. Qualified candidates will possess a friendly demeanor, innate sense of hospitality, strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and effective time management. Event Managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the event day, including managing FOH employees, working in tandem with the Event Coordinator, supporting the BOH and Facilities team, overseeing vendors, and providing excellent hospitality to the client and their guests. Our EMs are integral to the success of our events and are expected to be professional and polished at all times.This position is part-time. Weekend availability is required as the majority of our events are weddings and special events. EMs are expected to work 1-2 events per week with the option to work up to 4 shifts per week during our busy months (May/June/August/September/October). In addition to the event day (10+ hour shift; onsite), EMs are required to properly prepare for events and submit event paperwork and recaps (appx. 2-3 hours per event; WFH). This is a rewarding opportunity for motivated candidates!ResponsibilitiesCommunicate via email and phone with Staffing Department, Event Coordinators, FOH event staff, vendors and other necessary departments prior to event and on event dayDownload and use scheduling app to request and manage your scheduleManage FOH staff while overseeing all other aspects of the eventOpening and closing duties based on venue protocolGreet clients/VIPs and their guests; provide excellent customer service and exquisite hospitality, while providing delicious cuisine and a 5-star experienceFacilitate event-day meetings and check-ins with Event Coordinators, FOH team, Event Chef, Facilities, vendors, and clients; delegate tasks throughout the day as necessaryLead the FOH team (10-20 employees) in event setup based on BEO and SOSReception/Ballroom, Cocktail Hour Spaces, Bars, Ceremony, Bathrooms, Suites, Outdoor spaces, etc.Point of contact for vendors on event dayMaintain timeline and communicate all changes to necessary partiesPoint-person on reception floor during serve outDirect and oversee serve out, ensuring guests receive the proper dish and address any issues as neededConstant communication with expo (EC) and kitchen staffEffectively communicate with Peachtree team via walkie talkieLinen, equipment and rental management on event dayPlan and execute for a quick breakdown/flip; oversee reception flip, truck packout, venue cleaning, etc.Responsible for making sure that all closing and cleaning duties are completed by Peachtree team (FOH/BOH/Facilities); event space is ready for next dayOversee bartenders’ liquor packout; inventory all liquor on provided sheetPre-Event PrepReview BEO, floor plans, and other event documents and emails from Staffing Manager and Event CoordinatorCreate and submit an SOS in advance of event day; includes set-up assignments, table assignments, station assignments, greeters, a timeline, and FOH call outsPost-EventFill out event recap and employee evaluation formsAvailable for email/call with Staffing Manager/HR/EC to address any major issue2+ years of FOH experience working in banquets and events, preferably in both an on-premise and off-premise capacity1+ years of managerial or floor captain experienceExperience with timeline coordination & execution, event set up/breakdown, venue management, equipment & rental inventory, buffet & plated dinner service, vendor communication and beverage managementExcellent time management, attention to detail and follow-up skills are requiredComfortable leading a team of 10-20 FOH event staff from setup to breakdownQuick, effective problem solving abilities; calm under pressureReliable transportation (personal vehicle, public transportation, rideshare, etc)Open weekend availability is essentialExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAccess to a computer & the internetPolished, professional appearance and demeanorFine dining and hospitality experience a plusNot required but a preferred:RAMP certificationSafeServe certificationFirst Aid/CPR/AED certification,Wine expertise, bartending training, and food & beverage knowledge #J-18808-Ljbffr Peachtree Catering & Events
