Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid - 4 days onsite, subject to change)
Job Type: 18-Month Contract
Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Portfolio Manager to support a large-scale technology organization by managing portfolio planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic investment initiatives. This role partners closely with Finance, Product, Project Management, and Technology teams to oversee capital and operating budgets, optimize portfolio performance, and support executive decision-making.


The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with portfolio management experience in an IT environment and is highly proficient in Excel.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio planning, forecasting, and prioritization for a large-scale technology organization.
• Own project and portfolio financial forecasting, including annual and long-term capital and operating plans.
• Partner with Finance on budget planning, variance analysis, monthly and quarterly close activities, and financial reporting.
• Consolidate portfolio data and collaborate with project, product, and portfolio teams to resolve planning variances and identify risks.
• Develop and maintain executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Support capacity planning, resource forecasting, and investment prioritization across multiple initiatives.
• Maintain accurate financial and project information within Project Portfolio Management (PPM) systems.
• Monitor portfolio health, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate recommendations to leadership.
• Collaborate across technical and business teams to support strategic technology initiatives.
• Ensure portfolio planning aligns with organizational goals and financial objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, IT Portfolio Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience managing technology portfolios or budgets exceeding $10 million.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing both capital and operating expense budgets.
• Knowledge of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) methodologies and portfolio governance.
• Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) project lifecycle concepts.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP.
• Experience using Project Portfolio Management (PPM) platforms such as Clarity or similar tools.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT organizations and strategic technology portfolios.
• Knowledge of capacity planning, resource planning, and portfolio optimization.
