Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Surgery department, requiring BLS certification and Level 1 Trauma experience with Epic charting.

Details

• Hospital Surgery unit setting
• Day shift schedule Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm with rotating call, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly
• Rotating weekend and holiday shift coverage
• May float to multiple affiliated hospital locations within the health system
• Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or certificate of completion from a Surgical Technology program
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• IDPH fingerprinting required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provides direct and indirect surgical technology care, assisting surgeons in operative and invasive procedures
• Serves as a resource and informal lead to other technologists, including training new technologists and students
• Prepares for surgeon-specific operative procedures in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
• Scrubs on simple to complex procedures across a variety of surgical specialties
• Plans for and anticipates both expected and unexpected intra-operative events
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Contingent workers may not be continuously on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system and must take a 6-month break before returning
