Human Resources Generalist

HR GeneralistThe HR Generalist provides front-line HR support to employees and supervisors at SFO and helps ensure that essential people processes are timely, accurate, consistent, and employee-centered. The role supports the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, records, employee questions, performance documentation, leave and benefit coordination, employee relations intake, and offboarding.The ideal candidate is resourceful, approachable, and highly organized. This person is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly, recognizes when an issue is routine versus higher risk, and brings order and follow-through to evolving processes.Location: San Franciso, VAKey ResponsibilitiesServe as an accessible first point of contact for employee and supervisor questions, providing accurate information, resolving routine matters, and escalating complex or sensitive issues appropriately.Coordinate employee lifecycle activities, including pre-employment steps, onboarding, orientation, employment changes, transfers, promotions, status changes, and offboarding.Maintain accurate employee data and documentation in the HR information system and personnel files; conduct regular audits and promptly correct discrepancies.Support employee relations matters by completing intake, gathering facts and documents, tracking cases, assisting with investigations, preparing correspondence, and monitoring follow-up actions.Help leaders prepare clear and consistent performance, attendance, corrective-action, and separation documentation in partnership with the HR Business Partner.Apply company policies and the collective bargaining agreement consistently; respond to routine CBA questions and elevate interpretation disputes, grievances, or labor-relations concerns.Maintain practical working knowledge of California requirements affecting daily HR administration, including wage-and-hour practices, meal and rest periods, sick leave, leaves of absence, accommodations, final pay, personnel records, and required notices.Support compliance with applicable SFO and City-contractor obligations, including covered-worker records, notices, training, and audit support under programs such as Quality Standards Program, Minimum Compensation Ordinance, and other contract-specific requirements.Coordinate with Payroll and Operations to research timekeeping, pay, schedule, deduction, and employee-status questions and ensure issues are resolved promptly.Provide employees with benefit and leave information, route specialized questions to the appropriate resource, and track documentation and return-to-work steps as assigned.Support high-volume recruitment, hiring events, new-hire processing, workforce transitions, employee communications, and other SFO start-up or stabilization activities.Develop and maintain checklists, templates, standard operating procedures, reports, and manager resources that improve accuracy and employee service.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Three or more years of broad human resources generalist or HR operations experience.Hands-on experience supporting employees under California employment requirements.Experience maintaining confidential employee records and completing high-volume, detail-sensitive HR transactions.Working knowledge of core employee relations, wage-and-hour, leave, accommodation, and performance-management practices.Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines, work through incomplete information, and seek guidance at the appropriate time.Strong customer-service, written communication, organization, and follow-through skills.Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting a union-represented, high-volume hourly, or 24/7 workforce.Experience in an airport, security, transportation, government-contracting, or similarly regulated environment.**Compensation Range: **The anticipated salary range the Employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80,000 – $95,000 annuallyAbout Xcelerate Solutions: Founded in 2009 and headquartered in McLean, VA, Xcelerate Solutions is one of America's fastest-growing companies.
