Human Resources Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist of Compliance & Workforce Care supports the Director of HR Compliance & Workforce Care in administering and coordinating compliance, workforce care, workforce development, employee engagement, leave administration, accommodations, policy administration, workforce reporting, HR systems, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. The position serves as a professional-level HR resource responsible for supporting compliance activities, training administration, workforce programs, onboarding activities, employee engagement efforts, reporting and analytics, and HR-related projects in support of the organization's A3 Workforce Care goals.

This position is perfect for a highly engaged and personable HR professional familiar and comfortable with the confidentiality and professional boundary demands of such a position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in California.
• 1+ year of experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staffing activities.
• Experience supporting HR compliance, leave administration, accommodation processes, employee engagement, training, onboarding, recruitment, policy administration, or related HR functions.
• Working knowledge of federal, California state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, EEO, ADA, FEHA, ACA, COBRA, wage and hour laws, workplace safety requirements, workers' compensation, and leave administration.
• Experience administering or supporting leave of absence and accommodation processes under FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and related leave programs.
• Experience working with sensitive and confidential employee information and maintaining confidentiality.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project-coordination skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
• Strong technology aptitude and ability to support HR systems, reporting tools, process improvements, and technology-related initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

• HR Certification
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
• Experience participating in HRIS implementation, migration, optimization, or system conversion projects.
• Project coordination or project management experience.
• Experience supporting organizational change, workforce initiatives, or process improvement efforts.
• Experience supporting labor relations environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
• Bilingual (Spanish, Tagalog, or Chinese preferred, not required).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Compliance & Policy Support

• Supports administration of HR compliance programs and initiatives.
• Assists with compliance monitoring, audit preparation, policy acknowledgements, and required recordkeeping.
• Supports policy implementation, communication, and tracking activities.
• Assists with maintaining compliance calendars and regulatory requirements.
• Supports preparation of reports and documentation related to compliance and employment practices.

Leave Administration & Accommodations

• Supports administration and tracking of leaves of absence.
• Assists with accommodation tracking, documentation, and process administration.
• Supports employee communications and documentation related to leave and accommodation requests.
• Maintains accurate records and reports associated with leave administration activities.

Workforce Care, Engagement & Development

• Assists with employee engagement initiatives, workforce care programs, recognition efforts, and retention activities.

• Supports Workforce Care Committee activities and A3 Workforce Care initiatives.
• Coordinates training logistics, participation tracking, and training records.
• Assists with onboarding activities and employee development initiatives.
• Supports workforce development and organizational effectiveness programs.

HRIS, Reporting & Analytics

• Assists with HRIS data maintenance, reporting, and workforce analytics.
• Supports workforce reporting, compensation-related reporting, and HR metrics.
• Assists with employee-data review, record accuracy, and data integrity efforts.
• Supports preparation of dashboards, reports, and workforce data analyses.

Employee Relations, Labor Relations & Investigations Support

• Provides research, documentation, and administrative support for employee-relations matters.
• Assists with investigation documentation, file organization, and follow-up activities.
• Supports grievance tracking, labor-relations documentation, and related administrative processes.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee and labor-relations information.

Staff Leadership & Organizational Partnership

• Trains and supports HR and administrative volunteers, as assigned.
• Collaborates with leaders, managers, and employees to support HR initiatives.
• Partners with HRD Comp and HRD Ops to maintain coordinated and employee-centered HR services.
• Participates in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
