Details Work in a blended cardiovascular care unit with 18 CVICU beds and 12 CVIMCU beds Care for adult patients (16) with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CT surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy), IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, STEMI/NSTEMI, and EKOS 13-week contract with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) Frequent floating required between CVCU, ICU, and PCU units, as well as to a nearby affiliate hospital Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active OR RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certification required; CCRN preferred Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience with telemetry required Prior travel nursing experience required Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube insertion/removal, and ABG interpretation Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, managing dysrhythmias, and CRRT preferred Experience with post cardiac surgery care, IABP, Impella, and TAVR preferred Additional Information Unit is recognized nationally as a top-performing cardiovascular program with multiple quality awards including the AACN Silver Beacon Award Team emphasizes mentoring and ongoing specialty training, from beginner to advanced cardiovascular intensive care skills Training includes intra-aortic balloon pump management, continuous renal replacement therapy, targeted temperature management, and ventricular assist devices Former permanent employees are ineligible to apply for travel positions within six months of their termination date Facility prefers candidates able to start within 3-4 weeks and does not accommodate block scheduling Local candidates may be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-746782.
