Medical Laboratory Scientist II – Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine
~ Chapel Hill, NC
~ Part-Time | 40 Hours/Week | 10-Hour Shifts
~ Competitive Pay + $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
Requirements: - J
- MLS/MT (ASCP or AMT) or MLT (ASCP or AMT) Certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Chemical Science, or Biological Science; OR Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine experience required
Required Experience:
- Type & Screen
- Antibody Identification
- DAT
- Eluate
- Phenotyping
- Antigen Typing
- MTP Protocols
- Emergency Release Procedures
- Blood Product Modifications (Irradiation & Syringe Aliquots)
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex laboratory testing and quality control
- Troubleshoot instruments, specimens, and test results
- Maintain laboratory standards and documentation
- Support training and mentoring initiatives
- Serve as a technical resource within the laboratory
