Medical Laboratory Scientist II – Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine

~ Chapel Hill, NC
~ Part-Time | 40 Hours/Week | 10-Hour Shifts
~ Competitive Pay + $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Requirements: - J

• MLS/MT (ASCP or AMT) or MLT (ASCP or AMT) Certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Chemical Science, or Biological Science; OR Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine experience required

Required Experience:

• Type & Screen
• Antibody Identification
• DAT
• Eluate
• Phenotyping
• Antigen Typing
• MTP Protocols
• Emergency Release Procedures
• Blood Product Modifications (Irradiation & Syringe Aliquots)

Responsibilities:

• Perform complex laboratory testing and quality control
• Troubleshoot instruments, specimens, and test results
• Maintain laboratory standards and documentation
• Support training and mentoring initiatives
• Serve as a technical resource within the laboratory
