Nursing Program Analyst

Job No: 558868 Work Type: Staff Location: Humboldt Categories: Unit 9 – CSUEU – Technical Support Services, Administrative, Temporary, Full Time, On-site (work in-person at business location) Position Summary This position will provide administrative and analytic support to the Nursing Program in the School of Applied Health. The position reports to the Dean of the College, with oversight to the Nursing Director and School of Applied Health Department Chair. Responsibilities focus on five primary areas: Accreditation and Academic Program Review Compliance Student Support Meeting and Event Coordination Program Marketing, Promotion, and Communication Key Responsibilities Accreditation and Academic Program Review – 20% Administrative support for the program's accreditation process with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) as well as for institutional accreditation and academic program review, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and program faculty, developing and maintaining strategic systems and processes for successful accreditation and university academic program review. Maintains currency with accreditation standards, processes, and regulations as well as academic program review requirements. Includes data collection, analysis, interpretation, and writing of accreditation and academic program review reports. Maintains an organized list of current students and alumni with contact information and related program information. Input necessary alumni and employer contact information for exit surveys and focus groups. Compliance – 10% Compliance coordination by creating and maintaining databases and communication and monitoring systems for health clearance requirements, regulations, accreditation requirements, and agency contract requirements. Student Support – 15% Serves as the program's student point of contact for student transactions. Specifically: Facilitates paperwork and maintains program student records related to registration, student contracts, and other student transactions. Triages student questions related to registration, course permission numbers, and add/drop process for courses requiring department/program approval. Meeting and Event Coordination – 10% Schedules and coordinates all aspects of meetings and special events such as graduation receptions, visiting lecturer presentations, guest presentations, program meetings and retreats. Prepares and distributes promotional materials concerning special events and activities. Attends program meetings and ensures minutes are recorded. Plans and/or attends events related to recruitment. Program Marketing, Promotion, and Communication – 20% Creates presentations, documents, and other materials to meet academic and administrative goals. Coordinates alumni correspondence from the program. Ensures the program website content is accurate and current. Maintains and oversees the program's social media presence. Administrative Duties – 20% Facilitates course schedule development in collaboration with Director and community college partners. Reviews course catalog for accuracy and program requirements. Coordinates retrieval and processing of applications from admissions and ensures acceptance/denial letters are accurate. Responds to student inquiries about the program. Maintains organization of the program’s Google Drive. Other duties as Assigned – 5% Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Core competencies required for this position include: Effective communication with a diverse population. Application of standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques relevant to the program and administrative specialty. Knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the program or specialty. Operational and fiscal analysis knowledge. Initiative and independent planning, organizing, coordinating, and performance in varied situations with diverse demands. Research, development and evaluation of policies and programs, including data collection, evaluation and interpretation. Problem analysis and proactive solution development. Effective interpretation, organization, and presentation of information. Ability to train others and provide lead work direction. Strong written and oral communication skills with multiple audiences. Judgment and discretion with confidential matters. Independent research, development of alternatives, and participation in decision-making meetings. Proficiency in current software packages: Excel, Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Workplace apps, e-mail, PeopleSoft, SPA, and campus-wide software packages. Minimum Qualifications General knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative or program field, with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative experience. Preferred Qualifications Education equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. Five years of progressively responsible administrative support experience. Thorough knowledge of office systems, methods, and procedures. Full understanding of the supportive role of an executive assistant. Ability to work independently to achieve goals set by higher offices. Leadership ability in coordinating administrative and managerial tasks. Skill in investigating and analyzing administrative/managerial problems. Ability to define problem areas, collect data, conduct preliminary analyses, and make recommendations. Skilled in planning, organizing, and performing work with diverse demands. Benefits Temporary, full-time, benefited, exempt, 12-month pay plan. The salary range is $5,274 – $7,684 per month, Step 1-20, with an anticipated hiring range of $5,274- $5,488 per month, Step 1-3. Benefits include vacation, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, pre-tax health and dependent care reimbursement accounts, a fee waiver education program, and membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). 15 paid holidays per year.
