Medical Laboratory Scientist Providence Newberg Medical Center, Newberg, Oregon. Part‑time, Variable Shift. Responsibilities The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. MT/CLS JRN personnel are capable of performing pre‑analytical, analytical and post‑analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an NAACLS accredited MLS program, or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology, Upon hire: National Clinical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology, Upon hire: National Medical Technologist – American Society for Clinical Pathology, Upon hire: National Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists, Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Medical Technologist. 1 year experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department in the laboratory or exceeds principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description. Preferred Qualifications 3 years clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory.
