Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our sheet metal fabrication facility. This role involves coordinating workflows, maintaining safety and quality standards, and optimizing production efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations, including coordinating workflows across multiple departments and shifts.
• Monitor production schedules, adjust staffing and equipment usage as needed to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
• Ensure all finishing processes are executed according to specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain safety standards and promote a culture of safety among employees; ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members, including evaluating performance and addressing disciplinary issues as needed.
• Collaborate with design, quality control/inspection, estimating, and management to resolve issues and streamline operations.
• Monitor and manage raw material usage, inventory levels, and production documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and coordinate with maintenance for repairs and upgrades.
• Work closely with the Fabrication Supervisor to ensure jobs flow smoothly in and out of the Finishing process work stations, troubleshoot process issues, and provide input on scheduling considerations.
• Communicate effectively with upper management regarding production status, challenges, and resource needs.
• Provide job status updates to customers as necessary.

• Understanding of sheet metal and fabrication processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience supervising or leading others.
• Knowledge of paint and powder coat processes.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Good communication skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or engineering preferred.
• Experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment preferred.
• At least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.

This is a contract-to-direct role for the right individual. Upon direct hire, the company pays 100% of health insurance and offers dental, vision, PTO, and holiday pay.

Work Environment

This position operates in a very clean 56,000 sq. feet sheet metal fabrication facility. You will manage the paint, paint prep, and assembly areas of the shop, working Monday to Friday from 5 am to 3:00/4:00 pm, with additional hours on Saturday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay City, MI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bay City,MI.
