Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in San Marcos, TX, responsible for overseeing all aspects of a student housing community’s operations. Day-to-day tasks include managing property performance, supervising onsite team members, and ensuring high standards of resident service and satisfaction. The role involves monitoring occupancy and leasing activities, managing budgets and financial reporting, and coordinating maintenance and facility operations. The General Manager will implement company policies, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, and collaborate with regional leadership and partners to achieve community goals. This position requires hands-on leadership, regular interaction with residents and staff, and proactive problem-solving to maintain a well-run, community-focused property. Qualifications Experience in property or community management, preferably in student housing or residential real estate, with a track record of operational success. Strong leadership, team management, and coaching abilities to guide onsite staff and foster a collaborative work environment. Financial and analytical skills, including budgeting, forecasting, rent collection oversight, and performance reporting. Resident relations and customer service skills, with the ability to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive community atmosphere. Organizational and time-management skills for handling multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects. Knowledge of property maintenance processes, safety standards, and vendor coordination. Proficiency with property management software and standard office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal reporting and resident-facing communication. Ability to work on-site full-time in San Marcos, TX, including occasional evenings or weekends as community needs require.
